"IRAQI MISSILES FOUND

In and near Baghdad, more Iraqi trailors loaded with more Iraqi Scud missiles"

NONE of those pictures are SCUDS. Diogenesis you really need to get yourself a missile recognition booklet. If they were SCUDS then they would be headline news on the CENTCOM brief.

For example:

"more Iraqi trailors loaded with more Iraqi Scud missiles"

These are FROG-7s (Free Rocket Over Ground). This is a short range battlefield artillery rocket. Perfectly legal for the Iraqi's to have and not "missed by the Klowns".

Regarding the drums of "pesticide", it should be noted that the Iraqis are well know for either disguising their WMDs as pesticide or the ability to quickly convert the pesticides into WMDs (the ingredients for both are similar).

The main thing now is to change the regime, so that we need not be particularly concerned over how big its missiles are. :-)

Iraq to be a FRIEND TO ISRAEL. Can you IMAGINE? And imagine also...what it might be like if in 10 years happy military families look forward to a two-year tour on an Iraqi American Air Force base...having a great time, their dollars and their faces eagerly welcomed...just as we were in Turkey in the 80s. I cherish my time there. Who knows, maybe my husband can become a DODDS teacher and we could spend a few years in Iraq, homeschooling the kids, touring a free and safe Middle East!

I'm so glad for Shoshana Johnson. My heart ached for her daughter, and for all those who might have lost a loved one, but didn't!

Oh indeedy it IS French writing on those containors. "Produit d'urgence" roughly tanslates into 'Urgent attenion to product'.

France supplying this stuff to Iraq....when all this time Jaques has been telling us that he's just taking the moral high ground and war is never good....I'm shocked, I tell you....SHOCKED.

Love the chemical warheads and Scuds Saddam allegedly didn't have....and the al Samoud II's everyone kept telling me Saddam destroyed all of.

A set of parents, I think it was the Youngs, said his sister died while he's been in captivity. He was aware she was terminally ill. But imagine the parents have a child go POW and then another die in such a short time.

Back in 1968', I had a friend named Patty in first year highschool. She was killed brutually by a train. Her brother lost a leg in 'Nam, her Dad died, all within six months, her Mom from all that spiritual pain died within a year.

I also live in the land of the Kennedys (Quincy, Mass). My Mom and Dad raised a clan of eleven. I'm the tenth child. Four girls and seven boys. We are definately a more interesting BIG family than the Kennedys would ever hope to be! I'm the mother to a beautiful 4-year old son, the 20th grandchild. And the clan keeps growing!

I too, stayed up late into the wee hours of this day to watch the Support the Troops rally in D.C.. Slept in til noon. My husband was up with my son playing and I just could not believe my eyes when I turned on the computer to pull up Free Republic and there on the MSN cover page was the news of the P.O.W.'s. I'm ecstatic!

These are great pictures, as usual, Diogenesis. Why aren't we seeing all these missle finds on TV?

A Hosanna for Shoshana

Seeing you again gives us such joy
Knowing your wounds will soon be repaired
When we saw you before
You were looking so scared

Your plight touched us deeply
Night and day so many prayed
And in our Father's tender mercy
He answered on this blessed Palm Sunday

Now we offer up our thanks
For you and your little ones
They're going to get their Mommy back
Soldier, your battle is finally done

I strongly disagree.

You aren't a "hero" just because you took a wrong turn and got captured by an enemy who otherwise has been as inept as any the US military has ever faced.

Now, if you want to show me conclusive proof that they did something SPECIFICALLY heroic, fine.

But reserve the term for those who deserve it.

Okay, okay, they're all "heroes" because they went in the first place, I'll buy that. But I continue to submit that the term is used far too loosely.

Oh, and FWIW: Remember that they were fighting for and under the flag of that hideous tyranny that you and your fellow-travelers believe needs to be overthrown so that "true freedom" can flourish in the South, or whatever.

Need to be sparing of your praise, I think.

Check out this thread.

Hits home pretty hard, doesn't it? Those are heroes and their brothers-in-arms who went to battle with them are heroes, too. Wrong turns are not heoric deeds, but fighting for the homeland, and facing the enemy shoulder to shoulder is heroic in my book.

In fact, some liberals ran to Canada to avoid war.....Definitely not heroic.

Silkworm [called a "cruise missile" by Rather

That's because it is a cruise missile. It flies aerodynamically, not ballistically. Notice the wings.

A Silkworm is most definitely a cruise missile, specifically anti-ship, like the Exocet (which is air-launched rather than ground-launched like Silkworm).
