Great reporting, your efforts are are a major contribution to FR in my humble opinion. I was unhappy to hear a dope being interviewed on Fox News today make the remark that we must give up some of our civil liberties in the face of the terrorist threat. I wanted to jerk him around by his lapels.

The point of our war effort is to preserve our freedoms and civil liberties at all costs. That cost, as far as I am concerned, can include the annihilation of the entire Middle East if neccessary. I think it is the height of stupidity to agree to a one sided cease fire, it is the height of stupidity not to wipe this town off the map to serve as an example of our determination to wipe terrorist, and those that give them shelter, from the face of the earth.

Great. Well done American soldjers. It is a war between good and evil, between freedom and terrorism. All the allies of darkness in the middle east came together, Fashist sunnis, arab nationalists, Iranian terrorists, with thier fanatic friends. Sadrs army and other shia militias have made friends with Turkoman front (backed and funded by Turkish government), and much liked by thier Syrian friends and supported by Iran were terrorising Kurds in Kirkuk city for the last year. fighting against America and the changes they fear in the middle east. They want to establish the greater Islam Empior to role the world and and terrorise people. You have all the support of Kurdish nation in the four parts of kurdistan ( south , west , east and north). They should never succeed, or will be a disaster to the free world and what we kurds are fighting for for last centery. I am delighted as for the first time America stand really and in practice with real democracy and freedom.I was delighted to hear Mr Bushe's Speech yesterday. do not let axis of thieves and terrorists win.
It is a real time for Iraqies to decide either they are with tyranni, or freedom. They must say it loud, any one who can not say it loud do not deserve freedom, those groups who run and did not fight the gangs.
USA should test those groups and leaders in Iraq, it is the time to find out who pretends to be democratic and who is really freedom loving and want to sacrifice for thier freedom. There is no difference between saddam and his gang and sadr and his gang or other political parties who want to dominat and establish an Islamic state once they get to power. Don't let our sacrifices over years come to nothing.
ThankS again and was very great post. I was waiting for such a news over last week, still not sure that America will not leave or back down in face of pressure from media. Do not let Kurds down again. Now the world can see, these gangs who we have been forced to live with for a centrey. The brutality of killing those four American is the same brutlity of Saddams thugs who killed and terrorised kurds for over 40 years.

Where are these tough guys dancing around one of our burning flatbeds when the Bradley shows up?

Another excellent thread, DG. Thank you for the ping, Salem. Profound observation. I might add a couple of zeros to your assessment and send blessings and thanks to our new Templars. And here ya go, Dueler!

Two things of interest from the photos: First, the enemy are a bit more cautious it seems about showing their faces. Hmmm! Did the lessons of Falujah, get realized?... do they fear local retribution?... and do they fear IDF identification for future targeting on a GAZA street perhaps? Second, one day those rockets will run out. Our bombs and bullets will not. And did you note the guy carrying engine oil bottles? Smoking the fires for the effect of media clips and a cooperative press, perhaps?

My primary observation, however, is overwhelming pride and gratitude!

Hi, Please take a moment and either call the President or send an email to let him know we, the American people back him. Also, if you could just tell one person to do the same and ask them to tell another, than God willing, we will flood the switchboard with calls and faxes like they have never seem. This is one way we can take it direct to the President and it can not be misled by the media or stupid polls.....
Please call or email and God bless:

Why is the terrorist holding an M249(SAW)??

Am I mistaken or what?

Great pics, btw, Dio, on par with your excellent standards.

What an awesome thread! I get chills when I see pictures like these. God Bless our troops serving our great Nation! God Bless our Commander in Chief! Who isn't watching polls, and who sure has the weight of the world on his shoulders right now. I know I wouldn't want to be him!

Thank you for your ongoing photographic efforts -

Your pictures beat all the news stations and are more effective than most. Keep'em coming!

Your daily inclusion of the astronomy pics of the day helps my mind expand as the war news makes it contract!

PS Who is feeding all the RPG arms to the insurgents? Where are they manufactured? - we can guess, but do we know?
