As for the Japanese and South Korean hostages. I would recommend "The Rape of

The ROK

Iraq, and turn them loose. I am certain that when the ROKs get done, these
ragheads will seriously modify their behavior.

on the outrage continuum? I figured the west would get down to business only
after a stateside nuke attack. Still think you're a little early. We are early,

outrageous behavior than just a few defiled corpses and running children at you

I heard from a nam vet that the ROK used to bring piano wire to hang
suspected vc with. Instead of a quick snap of the neck, the vc would bounce up
and down for a while. He told me that after the ROK arrived in a sector, vc
activity dropped to nothing
He also told me that their camps were spotless and they would constantly
train in the martial arts first thing in the morning.

Mudboy:
We're not using overwhelming force. We're
pin-pricking. Overwhelming force would entail 2000lb JDAMs on all mosques,
carpet bombing or MOABs on falluja, ramadi, najaf, and other shitholes occupied
by the muslim terrorists, unrestrained deployment of heavy armor into those
"cities", napalm, flamethrowers, and so on. The USMC should have learned from
Hue City what it costs in US lives when we try to protect religious "shrines" -
remember the Citadel? It ended up as a lot of rubble eventually because the NVA
- like the vermin we are now fighting - were in it to the death.

To: MattinNJ
One of my cousins (Recon USMC 69-71) told me that he watched the
ROCS interrogate the VC. They would ask them in a polite manner what they knew.
If they didn't talk, they would take 3 to 4 of them on a helicopter ride. They
would fly approximately 1000 ft AGL at around 120 KTS IAS. They would then pick
one of these VC guys at random, and throw him out. The rest very willingly
cooperated.

I still do not understand fully the trepidation. My view, gained
only from armchair quarterback distance, is we have yet to decide whether or not
we intend to gain a victory in this small war. Nothing yet suggests to me we
seek to gain military victory, and we continue to sacrifice good men so as to be
sensitive to terrorist feelings on a range of issues. I would like a policy
maker to stand before American and explain how the sacrifice of one soldier is
preferred to that of even a million smelly foreign savages bent on our
destruction.
And whats with the DOD POLICY OF STRUCTURING OUR FORCES TO
BE ABLE TO FIGHT AND WIN A MAJOR WAR AND A HALF WAR? Tell me Rummy just what is
this--a major war? IF SO, why not WIN? If not why are we panting so hard? War
and a half---geesh.

Of course you are right that we are not using our full contingent of
weaponry, but such is the burden of being the GoodGuys who do everything we can
to minimize the deaths of innocent civilians. A few days ago, I spent many posts
debating why we could not simply NUKE FALLUJAH!! While I want to do
everything we can to minimize the loss of our soldiers, America cannot help but
be the GoodGuys in any conflict in which we are engaged. In the long run, the
Moral Authority that we retain by minimizing the loss of innocent life
ultimately saves military lives as the vast majority of the folks we are
liberating come to recognize our efforts and eventually shun those who snuff out
innocent lives as a battle strategy.
That said, if we know a concentration of insurgents are holed up in a
particular Mosque, by all means, drop a MOAB on it and rid the world of that
concentration of vermin!!
Mosques can always be rebuilt.

This is
exactly the way it should be! Terrorists fighting
U.S. Troops that are fully equipped to fight them back and administer a first
class a$$-kickin'! The more gather to take on our troops, the fewer there are to
do what they want to do around the rest of the world!
This whole war is accomplishing so much more than anyone anticipated. It's
also a perfect example of the troops putting their asses on the line to protect
their loved ones and all Americans back home! I know it's their job. None of
them, oh by the way, looked too terribly distraught. I saw many smiles in those
pics. It must be nice being part of the best trained, best managed, best
equipped military force in the history of the world and to be taking on walking
dirtbags.
