That's the rocket booster firing a Tomhawk cruise missile out of its launch
tube on a Royal Navy submarine. A rocket motor fires it out of the water and up
into the air, where the wings unfold and its internal jet engine takes over.
That weapon is one of the best things to come out of the American
defense establishment in the last thirty years. And as we've seen in both Gulf
Wars, it's tailor made for situations like this. Don't want to send in a pilot?
No problem. Just program the coordinates in our little jet-powered robotic
kamikaze friend, and off he goes. :)

Ok, the registration numbers are N814HA. Go to google and check that string to find a registration history, and voila!
Pilot James Laverack has logged 7 flights in this Cessna C-172.
to see the logbook entries for this craft that he flew in and around Naples,
Florida as (looks like) a student pilot. Each flight has a different Captain
noted. All flights were in May of 2001.

My son is in flight school, he tells me that when the lease is

way.

AWESOME PHOTOS! TWO IN ONE DAY! FABULOUS
Incoming e-mail at 12:42 p.m. today:
Dear Friends,
I just saw
on CNN about an hour ago that the first strike into Iraq this morning with the
cruise missiles and stealth fighters was led by two EA-6B Prowler jet aircraft
flown by my squadron, VAQ-131, the Lancers from USS Constellation!
WOOHOO! Leading the way! My aircraft carry one or two anti-radar
missiles but their main mission is to jam enemy radar and communications.
Normally a strike will not happen without the Prowler. We ensure that the
enemy cannot fix their radar on our aircraft. We also monitor and jam any
and all types of communication that relies of radio waves.
And my
squadron is part of history now, leading the very first mission!
:-)
WooHoo! Let's Roll!
Remember always that we love you
guys and continue to appreciate very much your
support!
YF,
Socks
ENS "Socks"

No, I don't, hence the smiley. But the banner is ambiguous - sort of like the
"hell no, I won't glow" slogan used by both sides of the nuclear debate.
The antis were trying to convey they refused nuclear power because they didn't
want to glow, which would have been inevitable had nuclear power been adopted
there, and the pro-nuclear people were saying that nuclear power is safe enough
that, hell no, they won't glow even after the plant is built.
