========= Pakistan =========

TERRORIST PERP - Source of Disseminated Nuclear Technology Worldwide
In Pakistan, head of Pakistan's nuclear programme Abdul Qadeer Khan
sent enriched uranium to Libya in 2001 and sold nuclear centrifuge parts to Iran in the mid-1990s.

=========== Iran ===========

In Tehran, Iran's top nuclear negotiator Hassan Rowhani returns after tricking India
into 'positive (nuclear) cooperation' to supplement what the Iranians already received from India's enemy, Pakistan.

In Tehran, Hamid Reza Asefi, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman
laughed with the Press until Iran's plutonium and polonium were brought up.
He admitted there were nuclear components in Iran and that they were caught buying
but it was no big deal because no Iranian can remember where the parts came from.
.

FIXED ELECTION UPDATE

In Tehran, at Parliament, Iranian lawmakers try to calm down a terrorist, white turban,
during an altercation with a reformist legislator.
An Iranian woman reform member of parliament was then photographed and thrown out.

Do you think he got off lightly?

    Great Britain

From our UK allies (unreported by the unilateral press):

"The highest award for acts of conspicuous gallantry performed by men or women
when not in the face of the enemy"

Picture of the George Cross Medal

A 19-year-old soldier, Trooper Christopher Finney, a member of British army's Blues and Royals, received the George Cross on Wednesday ~ the youngest person honored with Britain's second-highest award for gallantry.

The George Cross is surpassed only by the Victoria Cross.

The queen presented 96 military and civilian personnel from the Iraqi war with honors for bravery Wednesday.....including:

...Air Marshall Brian Burridge, the commander of British forces in the Gulf and a student of war - now Knight Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath:

"The U.S. advance on Baghdad is something that military historians and academics will pour over in great detail for many years to come. It will be required case study for staff college students throughout the world. They will examine the dexterity, the audacity, and the sheer brilliance of how the U.S. put their plan into effect." -  Air Marshall Brian Burridge, Baghdad Liberation Day, Apr. 9,  2004

Divekar, a former seaman who works for an US-based IT firm in the city, has secured many roles in Indian films for his striking resemblance with the Pakistani president. Playing the role of Pakistani President Musharraf in the movie titled Agnipankh to be released on February 27, Divekar is being approached by various Indian political parties to take part in campaigns ahead of the upcoming general elections and plans to quit his job to later enter politics. So..Is this guy sporting a CETME, Older G3, or some kind of G3 varient?"

The Pakistani Ordnance Factories facilities produce most of the line of H&K longarms, including the H&K G-3 rifle and the MP-5 9mm machinepistol. The factory coding for the Pakistani-produced components, which fully interchange with H&K parts of other manufacture, is POF. The wood furniture more commonly seen on CETME modelo C *El Chopo* rifles, but also produced by the Germans for their early rifles and also used by the Turks on some of their G3s, can be a little more comfortable against a firer's cheek than the more usually seen black or olive green stock and foreend. But it all interchanges with the removal of one pushbutton pin for the foreend and two for the buttstock; no big deal.

The use of the steel magazine rather than the aluminum ones favored by the German army also follows the practice of the Turkish mountain troopers. The aluminum magazines are lighter and handy, but scratch and dent more easily.

The G3 is a very favoured weapon in that part of the world for its reliability, power/range and accuracy. In 1993, the Type 56 Chinese AK47 copy was reported as selling in Pakistan's Northwest Frontier Province for Rs.15,000 (circa US $576), the MP5 for Rs.70,000 (circa US $2,700) and the G3 for Rs.30,000 (circa US $1,150).

Some of the walnut wood that shows up on the H&K rifles is quite pretty considering the stamped and welded construction of the rifles....

Pretty sure Paks use license built G3. It has the G-3 turret type rear site for example. These look the same.

Mine, or more properly the parts that it was built from, was built in Portugal, except maybe the bolt, which says's H&K on the bottom.
